How can we help?
Answers to the common questions, and a way to reach us if yours isn't here.
What is Vaiya?
An app for Mac and iPhone that turns a screen recording of your app into a polished product demo. It puts the recording on a background, zooms in on what you did, smooths the pointer and adds the sounds of your clicks and keys.
When can I get it?
Vaiya is coming soon to Mac and iPhone. This page will say when it's on the App Store.
How do I record my iPhone?
Tap +, then Record screen, then Start Broadcast. Use any app, stop from the red pill, and come back to Vaiya.
You can also record an iPhone or iPad from your Mac. Connect it by cable and unlock it, pick Device in the record bar, then click Record.
Does it zoom by itself on the iPhone?
Auto zoom needs to know where you clicked and typed, and only a recording made on a Mac knows that. On the iPhone you add a zoom yourself: tap Zoom where it should start, slide to where it ends and tap +, then drag the dot to aim it.
Why does the Mac ask for Screen Recording?
macOS asks this of every app that records the screen. Allow Vaiya in System Settings, under Privacy & Security, then open Vaiya again.
Why does the Mac ask for Accessibility?
So Vaiya can see where you are typing and zoom there. It notes that you typed and where, never which keys. If you say no, typing gets no zoom and everything else works.
Where are my recordings kept?
In Vaiya's folder in your iCloud Drive, so they show up on your other devices. The switch is in Settings, under iCloud Sync. With it off, recordings are kept on the device. See Privacy for the rest.
Does editing change my recording?
No. Your edits are kept beside the original capture, so anything can be undone and you can export again at another size. On the Mac, press ⇧⌘C to switch between your edit and the recording as it was captured.
Can I hide private details in a demo?
Yes. Blur covers anything you don't want shown, like an email address or customer data. Spotlight dims everything except the part that matters.
What can I export?
MP4 or GIF, at sizes up to 4K. On the iPhone the video is saved to Photos. On the Mac you choose where it goes.
